Aesthetic fillings
Aesthetic composite fillings (Mallorca · Can Pastilla)
Aesthetic fillings treat cavities, microfractures, and wear, restoring shape, color, and function with tooth-colored composites. At our dental clinic in Mallorca – Can Pastilla, we use isolation (ideally a rubber dam), high-quality bonding, and layering to achieve a seamless seal and an imperceptible aesthetic result.
What is a modern filling?
A conservative treatment that selectively removes decayed tissue (preserving healthy dentin) and replaces it with light-cured adhesive resin. This strengthens the tooth and avoids more invasive treatments such as root canals or crowns when treated early.
Process
1-Diagnosis and anesthesia (if necessary).
2-Selective removal of caries and cavity cleaning.
3-Application and layering of the composite (layering and anatomical techniques).
4-High-gloss polishing and occlusal adjustment for a comfortable bite.
Maintenance
Rigorous hygiene, flossing/interdental brushes, and regular checkups. If bruxism is present, a night guard is recommended to protect the tooth and restoration.
Why choose us?
State-of-the-art materials, a preventative approach, and clinical photography to control quality and color.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does a filling hurt and how long does it take?
With local anesthesia it is painless; it usually takes between 20 and 45 minutes depending on size and location. Brief sensitivity to cold may appear and will subside over time.
Will it be noticeable when smiling?
We seek chromatic and anatomical integration. The high-gloss polish imitates the enamel, and the margin is sealed to avoid leaks.
How long does a filling last?
Years, depending on size, habits (bruxism), diet, and plaque control. In large cavities, sometimes an inlay is advisable for greater longevity.
Can old metal fillings be replaced?
Yes, for aesthetic reasons or if they show leakage. We evaluate them radiographically and replace them with current resins when advisable.
