Frequently asked questions

How long does an implant last and what does it depend on?

With excellent hygiene, regular check-ups and healthy habits, their survival is very high in the long term. Factors that help: healthy gums, bone control, bracket if you have bruxism and avoid smoking. Uncontrolled diseases can reduce longevity.

Does it hurt to get an implant?

During surgery, no (local anesthesia). Afterwards, discomfort is usually mild-moderate and managed with guideline analgesics and local cold. Guided surgery tends to give more comfortable postoperative results.

What if I have been without a tooth for a long time and "have no bone"?

We assess it in 3D. Today we have short/wide implants, grafts, sinus elevation and, in selected cases, zygomatic solutions. The important thing is to plan so that the implant is stable and the gum integrates aesthetically.

Will I need a gum or bone graft?
