Guided surgery
Guided implant surgery (Mallorca · Can Pastilla)
In our dental clinic in Mallorca – Can Pastilla we plan your implants with guided surgery to achieve millimetric precision, minimal discomfort and faster recovery. 3D digital planning allows us to place the implant where the prosthesis needs it, achieving a natural aesthetic, bone stability and a functional smile. If you are looking for implantology in Can Pastilla with advanced technology and a close team, this is your treatment.
What is guided surgery?
It is the placement of implants previously designed in a 3D software from a CBCT/CT scan and an intraoral scanner. With this information we manufacture a customized surgical splint that guides the instruments in angle, depth and position, avoiding anatomical structures and reducing incisions. Result: short surgeries, less inflammation and more predictable prostheses.
Patients who value a minimally invasive surgery, single, multiple or full arch rehabilitations (All-on-X), and cases with complex anatomies or little bone where precision makes the difference. Also for those who desire implants on the same day (if stability allows).
Frequently asked questions
Are you always a candidate for guided surgery?
The vast majority are. We confirm it with the 3D study, where we evaluate bone density and volume, bite, and aesthetic needs. If there are significant bone deficits, we first plan regeneration (grafting, sinus lift) and then guided surgery. The objective is for the implant to have solid biological support and to emerge where the prosthesis needs it, not the other way around.
What differences will I notice compared to “conventional” surgery?
Mainly, smaller or nonexistent incisions, fewer stitches, less inflammation, and shorter chair times. Also, the accuracy of the guide reduces intraoperative surprises and allows for better anticipation of final aesthetics.
Can I get a tooth the same day (immediate loading)?
Only if we achieve sufficient primary stability and the bite allows force to be offloaded. In those cases, we place an aesthetic provisional—not for strong chewing—and monitor the occlusion at each visit. The definitive crown comes after osseointegration.
What happens if I have little bone or thin gum?
We resolve it with complementary techniques: guided bone regeneration, grafts, bone expansions, or soft tissue grafts. Digital planning helps decide the safest technique and minimizes new surgeries.
